Autism Comorbidities
The plan for Spring/Summer 2009 is to cover a variety of autism comorbidities (Tourette’s, SPD, Depression, and ADHD to name a few). This will be done in alternating week fashion. Week 1 of each comorbidity will be a post about the symptoms, diagnosis, and therapy for the disorder. Week 2 will be a personal story written by a parent whose child had an ASD and the comorbidity discussed the previous week.

Have you researched comorbidity with Gender Identity Disorder? I am transgendered and know of a lot of other transgendered folk that are Aspies. It’s interesting.
I’ve seen that as well on WrongPlanet. It seems transgenerderism and autism often overlap, as do autism and homosexuality. I wonder if it is a genetic/biological relationship, or a product of the social environment(ie autistics/Aspies having less concept of stigma, and thus more open about their gender/sexual orientation).
